Khmer is the official language of Cambodia and is spoken by the majority of the population. It has its own unique script and is heavily influenced by Sanskrit and Pali, the languages of ancient India. The most popular musical artists using Khmer language include Sinn Sisamouth, Ros Sereysothea, and Meng Keo Pichenda, who were popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Today, popular Khmer language singers include Preap Sovath, Ouk Sokun Kanha, and Chet Kanhchana, who perform a variety of genres including pop, rock, and traditional music.

In Cambodia, there are several radio stations that broadcast in Khmer language, including Radio Free Asia, Voice of America, and Radio France International. These stations cover a variety of topics including news, politics, and culture, and can be accessed through both traditional radio broadcasting and online streaming platforms. Additionally, there are several local radio stations that cater specifically to the Khmer speaking population, such as Radio National of Kampuchea and Radio Beehive. These stations play a mix of contemporary and traditional music and are an important source of information and entertainment for the Cambodian people.
