Psy chillout music on the radio

Psy chillout, also known as psybient or psychedelic chillout, is a subgenre of electronic music that emerged in the mid-1990s. It is characterized by a slower tempo, atmospheric sounds, and a focus on creating a relaxed, meditative atmosphere. The genre is often associated with the psychedelic trance (psytrance) scene, as many of the artists and producers come from this background.

Some of the most popular artists in the psy chillout genre include Shpongle, Entheogenic, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Ott, and Bluetech. Shpongle, a collaboration between Simon Posford and Raja Ram, is considered one of the pioneers of the genre, blending elements of world music, ambient, and psytrance. Entheogenic, the project of Piers Oak-Rhind and Helmut Glavar, combines traditional instruments and chants from around the world with electronic beats and textures. Carbon Based Lifeforms, a Swedish duo, create ambient soundscapes with a focus on deep bass and slow rhythms. Ott, from the UK, blends dub and reggae influences with psychedelic sounds to create a unique and eclectic sound. Bluetech, based in Hawaii, combines electronic and acoustic instruments to create dreamy and introspective soundscapes.

There are several online radio stations that focus on psy chillout music, including Psychedelik.com, Radio Schizoid, and PsyRadio.
