Pub rock music on the radio

Pub rock is a music genre that emerged in the early 1970s in the UK, and it was often played in small pubs and clubs. It is characterized by its stripped-down, raw sound, influenced by rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and country music. Pub rock bands typically featured simple guitar-based instrumentation, strong rhythms, and lyrics that often dealt with working-class themes.

One of the most famous pub rock bands was Dr. Feelgood, who were known for their high-energy performances and driving rhythm and blues sound. Other popular pub rock bands included Brinsley Schwarz, Ducks Deluxe, and The 101ers.

Although the pub rock scene was short-lived, it had a significant influence on the development of punk rock and new wave music. Many musicians who would later become famous in those genres got their start playing in pub rock bands.

There are several radio stations that feature pub rock music. In the UK, BBC Radio 6 Music occasionally features pub rock artists, while online stations such as Ace Cafe Radio and PubRockRadio.com specialize in the genre. In Australia, Triple M Classic Rock Digital plays a mix of pub rock, classic rock, and blues.
