Electronic house music on the radio

Electronic house music, often referred to simply as "house," is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the early 1980s in Chicago, United States. The genre was heavily influenced by disco, soul, and funk, and is characterized by its repetitive 4/4 beat, synthesized melodies, and use of drum machines and samplers. House music quickly gained popularity and spread to the United Kingdom, where it became a major cultural movement known as "acid house."

Some of the most popular artists in the electronic house genre include Daft Punk, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, and Tiesto. Daft Punk is known for their unique blend of house music with funk and rock influences, while David Guetta and Calvin Harris are known for their pop-infused house tracks that feature catchy melodies and vocals. Swedish House Mafia is a group of three producers who helped popularize the genre with their high-energy, festival-style performances, and Tiesto is a Dutch DJ who has been active in the genre since the early 1990s and is considered one of the pioneers of the genre.

There are numerous radio stations dedicated to electronic house music, both online and offline. Some of the most popular online radio stations include House Nation, Deep House Radio, and Ibiza Global Radio. In addition, many traditional FM radio stations have dedicated electronic dance music shows that feature electronic house music, such as BBC Radio 1's "Essential Mix" and SiriusXM's "Electric Area."
