Drill music on the radio

Drill music is a subgenre of trap music that originated in the South Side of Chicago in the early 2010s. It is characterized by its aggressive lyrics, violent themes, and heavy use of 808 drum machines. The lyrics often depict the harsh realities of life in impoverished urban areas, with themes of gang violence, drug use, and police brutality. The genre has since spread to other cities in the United States, as well as to the UK and Europe.

Some of the most popular artists in the drill music genre include Chief Keef, Lil Durk, and Polo G. Chief Keef, in particular, is often credited with helping to popularize the genre, with his debut single "I Don't Like" becoming a viral hit in 2012. Lil Durk, meanwhile, has become one of the most successful artists in the genre, with multiple chart-topping albums and collaborations with other big names in hip-hop.

There are a number of radio stations that specialize in playing drill music. Some of the most popular include Chicago's Power 92.3, which was one of the first stations to play the genre, and UK-based station Rinse FM, which focuses on underground electronic music. Other stations that play drill music include Atlanta's Streetz 94.5 and New York's Hot 97.
