"Classic" radio began broadcasting from Almaty on June 6, 2011 at the frequency of 102.8 FM. On December 22, 2013, the radio went on the air in the city of Astana at the frequency of 102.7 FM. The first classical music radio in Kazakhstan and Central Asia is a joint project of "Kazakhstan" RTRK JSC and the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. The main ideological and spiritual inspirer of "Classic" radio is the People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Zhaniya Aubakirova.
