MDR Sachsen is the regional radio station of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk for Saxony. The central studios are in Dresden, the state capital. The radio has four regional studios (Bautzen, Chemnitz, Plauen, Leipzig) and a local office in Görlitz. It is a radio focused on broadcasting information about Saxony. In the Bautzen area, programs from the Sorbischer Rundfunk are also broadcast on MDR 1.
