Some of the most popular Southern Gospel artists include The Gaither Vocal Band, The Cathedrals, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Booth Brothers, and The Isaacs. The Gaither Vocal Band, led by Bill Gaither, has won multiple Grammy awards and has released over 30 albums. The Cathedrals, formed in 1964, were known for their tight harmonies and powerful live performances. The Oak Ridge Boys, famous for their hit song "Elvira," began incorporating Southern Gospel into their music in the 1970s. The Isaacs, a family group from Tennessee, have won multiple Dove awards and have been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

The Gospel Station is based in Oklahoma and broadcasts to over 140 cities in six states. The Light is a network of Southern Gospel stations based in Florida that reaches over 1 million listeners. The Joy FM, based in Georgia, plays a mix of Southern Gospel and Christian Contemporary music and has a large following in the Southeastern United States.
