Swiss folk music is a significant part of the country's cultural heritage, with strong regional traditions and influences from neighboring countries. The Alpine region, in particular, is known for its distinctive yodeling and horn playing styles.

Some of the most popular Swiss folk musicians include the Schwyzerörgeli player Nicolas Senn and his ensemble, the yodeling group Oesch's die Dritten, and the alphorn quartet Hornroh Modern Alphorn Quartet.

In addition to traditional folk music, Switzerland also has a thriving contemporary folk scene that incorporates elements of rock, pop, and jazz. One of the most popular contemporary folk acts is the band Patent Ochsner, which has been active since the 1990s and is known for its socially conscious lyrics and eclectic sound.

Several radio stations in Switzerland play folk music, including Radio Swiss Classic, which features traditional and contemporary Swiss music, and Radio Lora, which broadcasts a mix of local and international folk and world music. The annual Festival des Artes, held in the small town of Vevey, is also a popular showcase for Swiss folk music and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
