Local radio for the city of Krefeld and the district of Viersen. 6 h daily local program, otherwise program from Radio NRW.. Welle Niederrhein broadcasts its local program weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN in the morning”) and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN in the afternoon”). At the weekend, local programs are broadcast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN at the weekend”). The rest of the time, radio NRW takes over the cover program. The messages are sent every hour from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The world news on the hour, the music title and commercial block immediately before it are broadcast around the clock by radio NRW. Like all private radio stations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Welle Niederrhein is also obliged by the state media law to broadcast citizen radio programs on its frequencies. These are recorded programs created and produced by local people or groups. These programs are broadcast in the evening from 8 p.m. for one hour.
