Tropicália Macaúbas

Our Radio!. Tropicália, Tropicalismo or Tropicalist Movement was a Brazilian cultural movement that emerged under the influence of artistic avant-garde currents and national and foreign pop culture (such as pop-rock and concretism); mixed traditional manifestations of Brazilian culture with radical aesthetic innovations. It also had social and political objectives, but mainly behavioral ones, which found an echo in a large part of society, under the military regime, at the end of the 1960s. The movement manifested itself mainly in music (whose main representatives were Caetano Veloso, Torquato Neto , Gilberto Gil, Os Mutantes and Tom Zé); diverse artistic manifestations, such as the visual arts (highlighting the figure of Hélio Oiticica), cinema (the movement was influenced and influenced Gláuber Rocha's Cinema Novo) and Brazilian theater (especially in the anarchic plays of José Celso Martinez Corrêa). One of the greatest examples of the Tropicalista movement was one of the songs by Caetano Veloso, called exactly “Tropicália”.
