Radio SRF 4 News maintains its public service in its purest form: the editors continuously select and deepen the most important topics from the daily news on politics, business, culture, sports and science. Radio SRF 4 News is the sixth public German-speaking Swiss radio station operated by SRG SSR. As the name of the radio station suggests, the content of SRF 4 News consists mainly of news. The station broadcasts a current edition of the SRF news every 30 minutes, and a short version of the current news is broadcast every quarter of an hour for fourteen hours from Monday to Friday. Since the station is a pure news station, current reporting in the context of breaking news is made possible, which was hardly possible on Radio SRF 3 and Radio SRF 2 Kultur, for example, and was partially practiced on Radio SRF 1.
