Born from the dream of creating a radio communication channel, Rádio Rainha das Quedas made its first broadcast at 10 am on July 27, 1988, in the midst of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the municipality of Abelardo Luz. The radio, which is “always on the side of the community”, depended on the citizens themselves for the first transmissions. It was the Queen's faithful listeners who brought the K7 vinyls and tapes with the songs that played in the programming.
In a short time, the radio became the main vehicle of communication, taking the news of Abelardo Luz, Ouro Verde, Ipuaçú and Bom Jesus to every corner of the region. The name Rainha das Quedas was chosen as a reference to the Chapecó River Falls, Abelardo Luz's postcard.
