The first issue of Vinkovački list, then called Vinkovačke novosti, was published on September 13, 1952. From 1874 until today, various newspapers were published in Vinkovci, and 11 newspapers had the adjective Vinkovci in their name. However, most of them were short-lived, and Vinkovački list maintained the continuity of publication for 64 long years as a witness of all kinds of life in these areas. In 1956, the 200th issue of Novosti was printed, at that time a unique newspaper for the area of the then Vinkovci district.
