Focused on Brazilian Popular Music, Rádio Unimontes expanded its journalistic programs, with the direct participation of academics, professors and managers of the State University of Montes Claros, either in the promotion of events at the institution or in actions aimed at research and extension. Inaugurated on 11/28/2002, Rádio Unimontes FM 101.1 was the first educational radio station in the north of Minas Gerais, covering today an area with a radius of 80 km. The programming of Rádio Unimontes (FM 101.1) is mainly based on good Brazilian popular music, but it maintains ample journalistic news, which has made it a reference for those with good taste.
