Radio SUN Oy started its operations in 1983. Its first local radio station was Radio Satahäme, which started operations in 1985, among the first commercial radio stations. Currently, in addition to SUN Radio, the company also operates the FUN Tampere radio channel in the Tampere region with a frequency of 89.0 MHz and the SUN Classics channel in Helsinki with a frequency of 102.8 MHz. Radio SUN Oy is completely domestic and purely owned by a native of Pirkan.
