Rádio Paiquerê, with the prefix ZYS-57, went on the air on an experimental basis in January 1957, but was only inaugurated on February 9. It was the third radio station to appear in the city that had Rádio Londrina and Difusora Paraná. The concession for Rádio Paiquerê was given to businessman Pedro de Alcântara Worms, winner of the competition opened by the National Telecommunications Council. Pedro Worms and Samuel Silveira owned other stations in the region and formed the Rede Paranaense de Rádio, which Paiquerê became a member of. As a different program, focused on information, Paiquerê was born strong.
