Menchhyayem Communication Cooperative Society Ltd. Radio Menchhyayem, a community radio operated by Tehrathum, currently has 655 members. Radio Menchhyayem, which officially started broadcasting on January 11, 2064, is currently broadcasting 17 hours a day. Currently, 11 employees, 15 volunteers and 9 trainee volunteers are working in the organization. The 100 watt radio at the time of establishment is currently 500 watt. The radio has adopted a policy of keeping correspondents in almost all villages to cover the activities in the district in a fast and comprehensive manner. Correspondents have also been placed in the neighboring districts of Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Dhankutta and Sankhuwasabha. In particular, the radio, which was established as an initiative by the people of Terathumam, who were born and worked, has made its vision to create a harmonious society by providing all the necessary information to the local residents by covering all the castes, languages and cultures of the district. Keeping in mind that community radio plays an important role in bringing educational awareness to the community through information, this radio has been producing and broadcasting educational programs. Radio has prioritized the policy of cooperation for building an educated community. Currently, the radio has collaborated with Gavis and Jivis to program development-related activities. In this way, it has been cooperating with non-governmental organizations of the district to conduct rights-friendly and governance-oriented programs.
