Lamjung Himal Information and Communication Cooperative Society Limited is a joint organization of communication workers, community and economic development activists active in Lamjung district. This organization supports the empowerment of citizens through information and communication to protect economic, social, cultural, political and civil rights. When we were reaching the remote parts of the district as communicators or development engineers, the residents of Lamjung used to ask, have we lost our radio that broadcasts our voice and the newspaper that we can read? This question made us crazy. We got to see with our own eyes the voices of the rural areas and the development works done in the village. We are trying to make the voiceless voices of the rural areas resound with our own voices at our own doorsteps. As a result, we started a campaign to create a common and inclusive community radio 'Chautari'. After nearly a year of efforts, its legal and financial efforts were finally successful and a 500 watt radio station 91.4 MHz was established for the first time in Lamjung.
