The depth of the influence that Al-Jazeera brought about in the Arab media scene emerged since its early years, prompting many observers and media specialists to assert that Al-Jazeera changed the basic features of the Arab media and pushed it to more freedom, independence and boldness. Al-Jazeera has become a distinguished media school against which the performance of other media institutions in the region is measured.
