Broadcasting began on March 10, 1993 under the name Radio station Nedelišće, with headquarters in Nedelišće. The identification sign was changed in October 2000 when they moved to new premises in the center of Čakovec. Very soon after the start of broadcasting, the radio gained a wide circle of listeners, and this is confirmed by research conducted in 2008, when it was announced that Radio 1 is the most listened to in the area of the City of Čakovec, Međimurje County, Međimurje and Varaždin Counties together, and good listening is also in the surrounding counties ( Krapina-Zagorje County, Koprivnica-Križevačka County, Bjelovar-Bilogora County), as well as peripheral parts of Hungary and Slovenia.
