Since 1993, LORA Munich has been a politically independent and non-commercial, alternative word radio or citizen radio for Munich and the surrounding area with a focus on social, local, ecology, one world and multicultural togetherness. According to the statutes, the range of programs and the voluntary orientation, LORA Munich sees itself as a community radio or as a forum for socially committed, local initiatives, organizations, institutions and people living in the transmission area. More than 200 volunteers in over 30 editorial offices strive every day to create a critical counter-public.
