In 1985, on the 1st of December, a radio was born in Samora Correia, in the municipality of Benavente, in the district of Santarém, with its own colors and the name IRIS FM – Independent Regional Information Service. The area of ​​influence of IRIS FM covers a radius of 50 km, encompassing the entire metropolitan area of ​​Lisbon, the municipalities of the district of Santarém, with emphasis on Benavente and Salvaterra de Magos, and on the other side of the Tagus, the municipalities of Vila Franca de Xira , Arruda dos Vinhos and Alenquer.
