Al-Fajr Radio was launched for the first time on December 27, 1993, when it worked regionally, in Beirut, Tripoli and Sidon, until the Lebanese Council of Ministers issued a decision on July 11, 2002 to apply the audio-visual media law, and imposed a forced closure on the radio pending obtaining a license due to the policy of political quotas. Accordingly, Al-Fajr Radio stopped its central transmission on July 18, 2002.
