89 FM A Rádio Rock

The rock never ends! Radio Rock is back! 89 FM Rádio Rock is a Brazilian radio station, granted in Osasco and headquartered in the city of São Paulo, which operates on FM radio in the 89.1 MHz frequency for listeners in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. The station is originally a concession of the municipality of Osasco and is headquartered on Avenida Paulista. It is a radio controlled by Grupo Camargo de Comunicação (GC2). It began its activities in 1985, with a program focused on rock. In mid-2006, it changed its programming to pop, but returned to being a radio station specializing in rock at the end of 2012. 89 FM went on the air for the first time on December 2, 1985. Before, the frequency was occupied by Pool FM, a station from the same clothing company Pool which, unlike 89, was focused on disco and funk music. Its main competitor was 97 FM from Santo André. Different from other radios in the young segment, 89 followed a style mainly focused on commercial Rock in which it was a pioneer, becoming a reference in style. However, the radio also differed from the original rock radios - such as Fluminense FM and 97 Rock - by preferring to adopt a language closer to pop radios, in addition to a repertoire limited to "hits", within the line of hit-parade FMs.
