Alternative music on the radio in Uganda

Another group that has made a name for themselves within the alternative music space is Nihiloxica, a fusion of East African percussion instruments and heavy techno music, promoting Ugandan genre music to the world. A prominent figure in the Ugandan alternative music scene is Suzan Kerunen. She creates original music with her acoustic guitar, sometimes bolstered by a full band. Her unique sound is an infusion of pop-jazz and neo-soul. The underground music scene in Uganda is ripe with musicians creating diverse, authentic and unique sounds, paving the way for an alternative music scene that is fast becoming a staple in the Ugandan music industry. In conclusion, Uganda's alternative music scene is rapidly growing, slowly breaking away from mainstream pop and hip-hop music, with radio stations leading the way through their choice of music played.
