Country music on the radio in Morocco

Country music is not widely recognized as a popular genre in Morocco. The traditional music of the country is mainly focused on Gnawa, Andalusian, Amazigh and Arabic music. However, there are still fans of country music in Morocco, and local artists have been inspired to produce their own style of music with a Moroccan twist. One of the most popular country music artists in Morocco is Adil El Miloudi. He has been producing country music since the early 2000s and has gained a large following in the country. His music is known for its blend of traditional Moroccan music with the classical country style. Another artist that has been gaining popularity recently is Jihane Bougrine, who has been releasing contemporary country music with Arabic lyrics. Although there are no radio stations in Morocco dedicated exclusively to country music, some of the country’s radio stations do play it. Radio Aswat and Radio Mars are some of the stations that are known to occasionally play country music. Due to the limited popularity of the genre, it is not a regular occurrence on these stations.
