Hip hop music on the radio in Mexico

Hip hop music came to Mexico in the late 1980s, and since then it has grown into a genre with a strong following. Mexican hip hop artists have put their own spin on the genre, incorporating traditional Mexican music and themes into their music. One of the most popular Mexican hip hop artists is Cartel de Santa. Their music uses a lot of slang and profanity and focuses on themes such as drug trafficking and gang violence. Other popular artists include Akil Ammar, Tino el Pingüino, and C-Kan. Hip hop music is still primarily played on underground radio stations in Mexico, but some mainstream stations have started incorporating the genre into their programming. Radio FM 103.1 and Radio Centro 1030 AM are among the stations that play hip hop music in Mexico City. Despite the challenges faced by hip hop artists in Mexico, the genre continues to thrive and produce talented artists who are making a name for themselves in the international music scene.
