Jazz music has a small but dedicated following in Guatemala, with a handful of talented musicians and a few venues dedicated to the genre. Among the most popular jazz artists in the country is singer and pianist Erick Barrundia, who has released several albums of original jazz compositions and covers. Another notable jazz musician is saxophonist and composer Héctor Andrade, who has also collaborated with international jazz artists.
While jazz is not a mainstream genre in Guatemala, there are a few radio stations that play jazz music alongside other genres. Radio Cultural TGN, for example, broadcasts a variety of cultural programming including jazz music, while Radio Sonora and Radio Viva are also known to feature jazz tracks in their playlists. Additionally, jazz festivals are held periodically in Guatemala, bringing together local and international jazz musicians for performances and workshops. The International Jazz Festival of Guatemala, for example, has been held annually since 2011 and features jazz performances from around the world.
